Undip, Semarang (12/05/2026) – The Graduate School of Diponegoro University held a Public Lecture themed “Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Buildings: Advancing Performance thru Facility Management” on Monday, May 11, 2026, in the 1st Floor Meeting Room, TTB A Building, SPs Undip from 08:30–11:30 WIB.
This event featured international experts, namely Prof. Dr. A.G. Bram Entrop from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Prof. SR TS. Dr. Syahrul Nizam Bin Kamaruzzaman from Universiti Malaya, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asrul Mahjuddin Ressang from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. The discussion was moderated by Chely Novia Bramiana, S.T., BBE., M.Sc., Ph.D., who guided the session in an interactive and dynamic manner.
In his presentation, Prof. Bram Entrop discussed the adoption of energy efficiency techniques and measures in residential buildings thru a multidisciplinary approach. He emphasized the importance of integrating technical aspects, building characteristics, user behavior, and policies to enhance energy performance sustainably.
Prof. Syahrul Nizam presented a research framework to assess the potential implementation of Energy Techniques and Measures (ETMs) based on their impact on energy performance, financial aspects, and decision-making processes in building projects. According to him, the success of energy innovation is greatly influenced by collaboration among stakeholders and effective facility management.
Meanwhile, Dr. Asrul Mahjuddin Ressang highlighted the importance of evaluating building energy performance by considering environmental characteristics, occupancy, building systems, and the impact of equipment usage. A data-driven approach and facility management are key to ensuring the long-term sustainability of building performance.
