Undip, Semarang (11/05/2026) – The Undip Graduate School once again held the Friday Research Day event on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the TTB A Building, 3rd Floor. This event raised the theme “Tips for Successfully Applying for a BRIN Scholarship and a Doctoral Research Grant (PDD-BIMA)” as an effort to encourage the enhancement of doctoral students’ research capacity.
Present as a speaker, Mardiyono, an awardee of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and PDD-BIMA scholarship, shared his experiences and practical strategies in the process of applying for scholarships and research grants. In his presentation, he explained the selection stages, starting from the preparation of a competitive proposal, strategies for aligning research topics with national priorities, to preparation for the interview session.

Mardiyono emphasized the importance of clarity in research urgency, publication track record, and commitment to collaboration with research centers as determining factors for success. In addition, participants were also provided with an understanding of the proposal assessment matrix to maximize points on each evaluated component.
The event, moderated by Chely Novia Romana, S.T., BBE., M.Sc., Ph.D., was interactive with discussion and Q&A sessions. The participants, consisting of doctoral students and lecturers, appeared enthusiastic in exploring technical and substantive information that could strengthen research funding opportunities.
