April 28, 2026

Undip, Semarang (04/28/2026) – The Main Courtroom TTB A Floor 1 of the Graduate School of Diponegoro University on Friday, April 24, 2026, witnessed the dissertation defense of the Doctoral Program in Information Systems by Dimara Kusuma Hakim. Dimara successfully completed her doctoral studies with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00.

The dissertation presented is titled “Development of a Flood Prediction Model in Coastal Areas Using a Combination of Neural Network Methods and Exponential Smoothing.” This topic was chosen due to its high relevance to disaster issues in coastal areas while also presenting an authentic and cutting-edge methodological approach in model development.

Thru the combination of Artificial Neural Networks and Exponential Smoothing methods, this research offers a flood prediction model that is expected to enhance early warning accuracy and support data-driven decision-making. Sharing her experiences during her doctoral studies, Dimara offered simple tips: consistently being in an academic environment and actively engaging in discussions on campus are key to maintaining the rhythm of research.

Once again, congratulations to Dimara Kusuma Hakim on her success in this dissertation defense! May the results of his research contribute significantly to the development of accurate flood prediction models and support disaster mitigation in Indonesia’s coastal areas.
