Undip, Semarang (6/10/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University is once again presenting an inspiring event titled “Diaspora: Global Opportunities and Inspiration,” which this time features Diponegoro University alumni currently working in Taiwan. This event serves as a platform for students to share experiences, motivation, and opportunities for international collaboration. This event was held online via the Zoom online platform on Monday, October 6, 2025.
This online event was attended by the dean, lecturers, and students from various study programs. In his remarks, the Dean of SPs Undip, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that this event is part of the Postgraduate School’s commitment to broaden students’ global perspectives and strengthen academic and professional networks at the international level.
“We hope to build global networks and collaboration spaces, especially with educational institutions in Taiwan,” he said.
The next session is the presentation by the first speaker, Rendy Ariefta, a graduate of Diponegoro University who is now working at Century Wind Power Co., Ltd. in Taiwan. He shared his career journey in Taiwan, the challenges he faced, and his strategies for adapting to an international environment, particularly Taiwan. It also highlighted the importance of global competence, research skills, and networking in building a career abroad. Then the second presentation session was continued by Erika Yulianti, a current Undip alumna who works at the CTCI Corporation in Taiwan. Erika shared similar insights regarding the work culture in Taiwan, the journey of completing the 3+2 program, and the challenges she faced as a foreign citizen with residency in that East Asian country.
The event “Diaspora: Global Opportunities and Inspirations” also featured interactive Q&A sessions, where participants had the opportunity to engage in direct dialog with the speakers. The questions asked included how beginner scholarship applicants should prepare, the challenges of starting a career abroad, and the challenges of pursuing a scholarship.
Through this event, the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University affirms its role as an educational institution that not only focuses on academic development but also encourages students and alumni to become part of a highly competitive global community. (Humas SPs – Daffa Amir Pambudi)
