Undip Semarang (24/11/2025) – The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University has recently sent their best student, Muhammad Helmi Candra to join in a Business Plan Competition conducted by Paragon Corp titled IN:PACT PARAGON CORPS 2025. This event was part SPs Undip initiative to uphold the value of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The competition itself was held 13 and 15 February 2025 (Online) and 22 until 30 November 2025 (Offline).
Helmi proposed the “Green-Ingredients Cosmetic from Fruit and Vegetable Waste through Green Extraction”. On this topic, Helmi aims to provide an innovative solution to address the issue of processing organic waste into environmentally friendly cosmetic ingredients. The case study presented aligns with one of Undip’s visions, which is to uphold the values of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that consider not only the social impact but also the environmental and economic impact. Through this idea, Helmi attempts to emphasize that by using a circular economy approach, which involves utilizing fruit and vegetable waste to create economic added value by implementing this waste through green extraction methods. Thus, this innovation can transform the waste into natural cosmetic ingredients without harming the environment.
Helmi’s participation in this competition not only honors the faculty and study program but also enhances Undip’s reputation on the international stage, thereby creating a more dignified image for the university and providing a new breakthrough in addressing social and economic environmental issues. Furthermore, this competition also provides a platform for students to explore and hone their hard and soft skills in building superior self-capabilities, both academically and in socio-economic relations with the community.
