UNDIP, Semarang (17/07/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University once again held another dissertation exam for Aulia Rahim titled A spatiotemporal analysis of carbon stock and vulnerability in mangrove ecosystems is essential for sustainable management in Pariaman City, the North Coast of Java, and Madura Island. The exam was conducted at the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University TTB.A Building exam room on Wednesday, 16th July 2025. The exam was also attended by a number of high-ranking officials from the Brebes district government, including Sugiharto, S.Hut., MP, as the Head of Watershed Management and Natural Resource Conservation; Farikhah Elida, ST., MT, as the Head of the Jepara District Fisheries Office; Haris Wahyudi Ridwan, AP, M.Si, as the Head of the Demak District Education and Culture Office; and Caridah, M.PD, as the Head of the Brebes District Youth and Sports Education Office.
During her doctoral degree college era, she has numerous achievements, such as Mangrove species structure at the Tuntang Estuary, Demak, Central Java, IOP Conf. Series: Earth and Environmental Science Publication, and international-level research like Case-based learning in degraded mangrove ecosystems: Hydrological, ecological, and economic aspects (Impact Seed Fund – Pulitzer Center, United States, 2024).
The reason behind why she took this dissertation “During my undergraduate era, I was interested in doing research about mangrove ecosystems, and both my undergraduate thesis and postgraduate thesis are all about the management of mangrove systems. I was thinking that I would like to take a deep dive into this mangrove management system that is related to Indonesia, especially in North Java Beach,” she said.
