SPs Undip Conducted Visiting Professor Titled “Digitalization of Environmental Infrastructure” to push Sustainable Innovation

Undip, Semarang (3/11/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University was once again having a visiting Professor program as part of its efforts to strengthen international academic networks and broaden students’ perspectives on global technological developments. This event carries the theme “Digitalization of Environmental Infrastructure”. This activity took place on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 13:00 WIB in the Smartclass Room on the 6th Floor TTB-A Building and it was a hybrid conference.

This visiting professor activity is an academic forum designed to increase the knowledge of students and lecturers regarding the application of digitalization in environmental infrastructure management. Through this discussion, participants are expected to understand how digital technology can be applied to create more efficient, sustainable, and globally competitive environmental systems.

This event features Prof. Kuo-Wei Liao, Head of the Department of Bioenvironmental Engineering at National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan, as the keynote speaker. He is known as an expert in the field of bio-environmental engineering and the development of digital-based environmentally friendly technology. Meanwhile, John Thedy, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., served as the moderator, guiding the interactive discussion session.

This activity began with a welcome address by the Dean of the Graduate School of Diponegoro University, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., followed by welcome remarks and a presentation by Prof. Kuo-Wei.

The discussion was interactive, with several students and lecturers asking questions about the implementation of the technology in Indonesia. Moderator John Thedy led the session dynamically, ensuring that every participant had the opportunity to discuss and exchange views.

The event concluded with a documentation session and appreciation for the speakers, ending with the hope that cooperation between the Undip Graduate School and National Taiwan University can continue in the form of research and teaching collaborations in the future.
