UNDIP, Semarang (15/5/2025) – The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University once again conducted the 3rd Friday Research Day titled Data Visualization and Technical Diagrams by Using Visio & MATLAB” on Friday, 9th May 2025. This event was meant to emphasize for all students and lecturers in order to enhance participants’ competence in processing and visualizing technical data effectively and professionally, particularly in the fields of academia and research.
This event is held at the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University, TTB-A Building, Smartclass room A301 on the 3rd floor. This event features an experienced speaker in the field of data engineering and technical visualization, John Thedy, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., who will conduct a session on Microsoft Visio and provide insights on the use of MATLAB in scientific data visualization.
The first session focused on using Microsoft Visio to create technical diagrams such as flowcharts, network diagrams, and abstract graphics. Participants are guided to carry out creating diagrams from software programs. The second session continues with an introduction to MATLAB as a tool for scientific data analysis and visualization. Various graphs, plots, and three-dimensional diagrams were introduced along with simulations of practical cases.
The participants’ enthusiasm was demonstrated throughout the event, with numerous questions and interactive discussions taking place during the sessions. Through this activity, the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University hopes this event will enhance the academic capacity as well as emphasize the use of digital technology in supporting innovative and high-quality research.
