UNDIP, Semarang (13/06/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University once again conducted the 5th Friday Research Day Titled “The Usage of Qualitative Analysis & The Utilization of AI as an assistance for Scientific Writing”. This event was held at The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University Smartclass Room A301 and Online in the Zoom Meeting. This event was attended by a number of students and lecturers.
The First session was brought by Rakhmadi Irfansyah Putra, S.Kom., MMSI., The Doctoral of Information Systems Student. He explain on how we utilize AI as an assistance for scientific writing. He said that AI has massive potential such as Chat GPT, Deep Seek and Qwen in helping the process of writing scientific research. Despite the convenience of using it, There an ethics that we have to pay attention to. Genuinely, AI is a mere assistance for our work, not to replace us.
“Please be responsible in using AI, There’s an ethics on using it ” he said.
The second session was continued by Muhammad Ismail Hasan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Lecturer of Applied Bachelor’s Civil Infrastructure Engineering and Architecture Design at UNDIP, with the topic “Using Atlas.ti for Qualitative Analysis.” In his presentation, he explained that Atlas.ti is one of the leading software in qualitative data analysis, which can be a groundbreaking for us to assist researchers in organizing, coding, and analyzing text, audio, and visual data.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion session, where participants raised various questions, such as how to effectively utilize AI in processing research data questionnaires. This Friday’s Research Day activity emphasized the importance of technology adaptation in research while also encouraging the academic community to uphold scientific integrity.
