Semarang, UNDIP (19/02/2026) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University has recently conducted a dissertation exam for Erman Arif from Information Systems. On this occasion, he is presenting his works titled Historical Share Data Integration and Social Media Sentiments to Observe Fluctuation of Digital Banking Stock Market Through Machine Learning. The exam took place at The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University TTB-B Building, 2nd Floor, on February 19th, 2026.

Eeman Arif is a lecturer from Universitas Terbuka, which has been taking a deep dive in information systems science, especially in the digital finance fields. Erman has a research passion towards the development of machine learning-based stock price prediction models, the integration of historical data and market sentiment, and digital financial analytics. The reason behind Erman choosing this dissertation title is to examine the correlation between social media users’ sentiment on platform X and stock price trends based on machine learning. Erman also shared tips and tricks on how to complete a dissertation exam successfully, emphasizing that PhD students need to know how to set achievement targets each semester related to completing research. “As PhD students, we are given a 6-semester timeline, and each semester, fellow students need to know what kind of targets should be set,” he said.
