Undip, Semarang (24/12/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University once again conducted a Dissertation Exam. The exam itself took place at The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University TTB-B building. In this opportunity, The student with the name of Bagus Irawan brought his dissertation titled “Management Integration Based on Public Participation and Digital Technology.”

In his dissertation, Bagus wants to explain the sustainable waste development in the Semarang Old City Cultural Heritage Area. That area surely has rich historical, economic and social values. This research is try to emphasize the essence of integration from public participation and utilization of digital technology in order to increase the effectiveness of Waste Management in this historical town.

Bagus Irawan also has an educational background in civil engineering, regional planning, environmental management and has professional experience in the Semarang City Government Scope. His expertise strengthens the relevance of the developed dissertation, particularly in addressing the challenges of urban environmental management based on policy and on-the-ground implementation.

This research is expected to support efforts to realize sustainable cities based on public collaboration and technological innovation. The Diponegoro University Graduate School hopes that these results will not only contribute to the development of science but can also be implemented in practice by local governments and relevant stakeholders. The Undip SPs congratulate Bagus Irawan on his dissertation defense, hoping this will continue to drive research and have a direct impact on sustainable development, particularly in environmental management and the preservation of cultural heritage areas.
