The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University joined forces with the Indonesian Electricity Society in conducting a seminar titled “Waste to Energy: Independency Energy Driving and Environmental Awareness” on November 27th, 2025. This event was held at The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University TTB Building, 2nd floor. This activity was attended by academicians, local government, and stakeholders in the electricity and environmental sectors.
The welcome remarks were delivered by the Chairman of MKI Central Java & Yogyakarta, Ir. Soewondo Koesoemo; the Dean of the Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo; and the General Chairman of DPP MKI, Abdul Farid, who attended as the keynote speaker. The event then continued with the signing of the MKI cooperation agreement with the Undip Graduate School, followed by a group photo.
The core session of the seminar began with the screening of the video “Waste to Energy Jatibarang Landfill.” Four speakers then presented their respective presentations, which encompassed waste management in Semarang City, the direction of renewable energy development in Central Java, the role of waste-to-energy in supporting regional energy independence, and the construction of PLTSa in Indonesia.
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Jaka Windarta, with participants actively engaging in dialogue regarding the challenges, policies, and opportunities for implementing waste-to-energy in various regions. The moderator then presented a summary and conclusion of the entire seminar. The event concluded at 11:45 WIB with a closing by Ir. Soewondo Koesoemo, marking the end of a series of informative and constructive seminars.
