Pushing Forwards: SPs Undip Emphasize the Global Collaboration through in Sharing Session Titled “Experiences in International Research

Undip, Semarang (19/11/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University conducted a sharing session titled “Experiences and Opportunities in International Research” on 19 November 2025. The speaker consists of UGM Lecturer Dr. Aidiel Rachman Putra, The SPs Undip Postdoc researcher Dr. Aulia Rahim and the DAAD awardee and BRIN researcher Lisa Fajar Indriana, M.Si.

This event was opened by Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the dean of Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University. In his opening speech, he would like to emphasize the essence of consolidating the International academic network as one of initiatives to reach an opportunity in order to advance qualitative research. “For us, networking is very important if we want to build an academic atmosphere on international networking”, he said.
After the opening, the session continued with a presentation by Dr. Aulia Rahim. She shared strategies for pursuing international scholarships, tips for writing reputable publications, and the process of data collection and paper preparation. Dr. Aulia also shared her experiences conducting research abroad and how to build collaborations with international educational institutions.

The second speaker, Lisa Fajar Indriana, M.Si, emphasized the importance of understanding one’s passion when pursuing a research career and international fellowships. He outlined various common challenges, such as cultural adaptation, language, time management, and different work rhythms. According to him, mental readiness and focus on the field of study are key to obtaining international cooperation opportunities and scholarships.

Finally, the last presentation conveyed by Dr. Aidiel Rachman Putra, who strongly encouraged participants not to be afraid to start research. He told them that the first steps don’t have to be perfect, but the courage to try is vital in research. Dr. Aidiel emphasized that scientific publications must have an impact, and confidence is an important part of the process. It also encourages participants to actively seek out information and collaboration opportunities as widely as possible.

The event is expected to provide new insights and motivation for the academic community of the Undip Graduate School to become more actively involved in international research and expand academic networks globally.
