Undip, Semarang (2/9/2025) — The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University recently held a stadium generale titled “Comparison Analysis on the Overall GHGs/SLPs Emissions from Various Types of RDF Facilities in Indonesia” with Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) Japan, Dr. Eng. Sudarmanto Budi Nugroho, Ph.D. This activity was held at The Postgraduate School of Diponegoro University TTB-A building, 4th floor, on September 2nd, 2025. This event was part of a collaboration between SPs Undip and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in order to emphasize the disposal of material waste management issues to convert it as a new alternative renewable energy resource.
The Dean of SPs Undip, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Agung Wibowo, M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered the opening speech and said this event would be a groundbreaking innovation for SPs Undip to establish a Living Laboratory to accomplish those material waste management problems in Semarang. The head of the study program of the Master of Environmental Sciences said the study program will contribute to those actions by emphasizing the organic waste materials management.
Dr. Eng. Sudarmanto Budi Nugroho, Ph.D., from Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), delivers his presentation. He gave a general explanatory presentation on the material waste management roadmap to contribute to achieving Net Zero 2060, where renewable alternative energy is created without harming nature. The next session was a discussion session. Students also showed their enthusiasm by highlighting the role of RDF as one of the renewable energy alternatives to reducing environmental impact.
